the spa is amazing and really nice that all of it is accessible to the guests. the food at the tavern was really good for dinner. wish those at front desk were more informative. we were not given any info about the spa or that it was available to us even on days we didn’t have treatment so we missed one who day of use of facilities. staff at front desk didn’t tell us about need to make reservations for breakfast at the tavern. In general I didn’t feel like the front desk staff really gave us much information but the place is wonderful and really really enjoyable. Perhaps front desk staff could get better training? Just to provide more information about the area and what you could do at the resort for new guests.

Location was chosen specifically because of its proximity to friends who reside in the area. Onsite pub dining was a plus. Breakfast was nicely served hearty fare. Site computers were not properly functioning on departure; as promised, as soon as systems were up and running we were billed. A computer generated erroneous double charge was immediately rectified with a quick phone call to The Essex. Staff was pleasant and helpful at all times. Room was standard. Bed comfortable.

Wait staff was excellent. Hotel staff was excellent. we were in room 203 - recommend a reading lamp of some sort be placed by the two sitting chairs for reading. Otherwise the room and location was great. We had dinner on the patio. Very windy and cold. The roof should have been closed to cut down the wind; and perhaps some tall gas space heaters. Had salmon which was cooked way too much. Otherwise, we loved the resort and will be back next time for a longer stay. John McCann

Quiet. So very quiet and not an awkward quiet. Clean. Comfortable. Very comfortable. It was a nice stay and I would definitely recommend it and stay again. The room was spacious. The bed was large (king) and comfortable. Was updated with nice touches. And did I mention how quiet it was there. Peaceful.

The hot tub area could have been a little more maintained as far as landscaping etc. but it was a chilly evening with a little bit of rain in the air and the powerful jets in the hot tub and the hot water felt amazing. Def our favorite part of our stay.
